vBLimiter Information
This tool is something I origional contract darkwaltz4 to make for me privately and its saved me 1000's of dallors in bandwidth over the last few years with a high traffic downloads ratio website that I had. I was avg 4.7 gigs a day in downloads of files no bigger between 250kb and 56kb.
I needed something that could limit the open tap so to speak of downloads flowing through my site, and hence an eariler version of this script was born.
What does vBlimiter do?
In a nut shell it limits attachment downloads by file type, and usergroup, but does it in a way that is very easy to setup. And does it on a per attachment type. aka Unlimited possiblities. On top of that it makes it possible for people not registered to your site to download only files you want them to be able to get. This opens the door for possiblities you can only dream of with other systems.
